About TLELCC
TLELC was founded in 2011. We began as a home childcare provider. The Administrators of Tender Loving Early Learning Childcare, LLC are Mr. Jermaine James & Mrs. Tamika James. Mr. and Mrs. James were born and raised in Virginia where they met and married! We are blessed with three beautiful children who we adore! Seeing their smiles on their faces daily and watching them grow into fine gentlemen's and a beautiful young lady has always been our motivation that we want to bring that same joy and excitement to every child. Children are our future and they deserve the BEST! Mr. & Mrs. James have over fifteen years of childcare experience with over 36 hours of Early Childhood Education and they both continue their annual training. Mrs. James, Director, also has a Child development degree! She is a Certified Notary, Travel Agent, Nursing Assistant, and Medical Assistant as well. Mr. James is also a Travel Agent, chef, and has over fifteen years in the medical field as a respiratory/ DME equipment technician. Both are also certified in First Aid, CPR, and MAT trained.
In 2014 Tender Loving Early Learning Childcare, LLC became licensed by the department of Social Services. We have been established in our commercial center for six great years! Our first childcare center has been open for six years in the Park Place area of Norfolk, Va. Our second location opened in May of 2016. We are an EOE provider. We service childcare from birth to 13 years old.
Philosophy
The Philosophy behind our curriculum is that young children learn best by hands on. Tender Loving Early Learning Childcare Center has revised the “Creative Curriculum”. The main idea that is used in the Creative Curriculum is that children learn best by thinking and experimenting rather than being encouraged to repeat what someone else says. The activities that we plan for the children, the organization of the environment, selected toys and materials as well as daily schedules, which include talking and nurturing, will allow us to accomplish our goals and partnership with our parents to ensure your children has a successful start in school and a positive transition between home and school. We also offer a preschool setting using the STEM Curriculum to prepare children for kindergarten.
Staff
At Tender Loving Early Learning Childcare our number one goal is to provide our clients with the highest quality of childcare. This goal starts with our staff. We hire only highly qualified teachers and center staff members to guide your child through their days of learning.
Before a staff member is hired at our center each member is screened for clearance through state and local backgrounds, cps background, finger printing, and reference check procedures.
When a staff member is hired each staff member is individually trained with the center’s procedures. While staff are employed they must meet the states requirements on trainings, background checks, and medical documentation. We have staff members that are certified in First aid and CPR, MAT trained, have food handlers card, and we have a food manager on site. We also have a walk-up café connected to our 2nd location. Please feel free to visit James Walk-Up Café any day. In addition, all our center staff have training in the following topics: Daily Health Observation, Child Abuse Prevention and Playground Safety.
Our teachers assist in potty training, educational learning, homework and promote literacy and creative art.
Services and Discounts
We gladly accept childcare assistance from Social Services, For Kids, and NCCRA for military families. We also specialize in also caring for children with special needs! We offer a discount of $20.00 monthly fee off of one child for military families with at least three children enrolled. This also applies for multi- family discount of three children with self paying parents.
Meals
Meals are included in the cost of enrollment. We strive for nutritional and low-fat free. Our menu ensures a fresh and healthy diet (USDA approved). Our services include two free meals and a snack daily. We encourage parents to let our staff know of any special dietary concerns or considerations.
